
ABOUT CNP TAXPAYERS' ASSOCIATION
CNP Taxpayers' Association is a non-profit organization in Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, Canada. It is a citizens' advocacy group that advocates controlling taxes and an increase in government accountability.
PURPOSE
The Crowsnest Pass Taxpayers’ Association is committed to advocate for lower taxes, endorse fiscal responsibility, focus on essential services and eliminating unnecessary expenditures.
MISSION
Together, as citizens of the Crowsnest Pass, the Crowsnest Pass Taxpayers’ Association stands up for all taxpayers. We have the power to change who influences the taxes in the Crowsnest Pass.
VISION
To educate and inform all taxpayers about the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass operational and capital budget, property assessments, and mill rate.
Who we are: The Crowsnest Pass Taxpayers’ Association is a non-profit, non-partisan, advocacy association in the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass committed to making a difference for greater accountability and efficiency in government spending.

Why we exist: To reduce the tax burden on individuals, families, citizens and business owners empowering their ability to retain more hard-earned dollars.

What we are not: The Crowsnest Pass Taxpayers’ Association does not participate in federal or provincial politics. Our role is to align municipal spending and taxes.

Goal: To establish a strong presence and professional status in the community of Crowsnest Pass in an effort to control taxes and increase disposal income for all individuals, families, citizens and businesses. This promotes consumer spending and investment which, in turn, stimulates economic growth.

Values: The Crowsnest Pass Taxpayers’ Association relies on the following:

Integrity – to establish high standards of trust with all citizens ensuring the implementation of the Alberta Municipal Government Act in a fair and just manner and that which promotes on-going community engagement and public participation;

Respect – the right to be treated professionally, courteously and fairly where citizens feel heard and valued, listened and responded to, judiciously;

Collaboration – recognize, consult, share ideas, and act on opportunities to work together as a collective, in our effort to partner wisdom, knowledge and expertise, in the decision-making process, inclusive of all citizens’ voices;

Education – increase and enhance taxpayers’ rights, public awareness of the Alberta Municipal Government Act and Municipality of Crowsnest Pass Municipal Bylaws and Policies to ensure transparency and accountability;

Professionalism – the right to understandable, accurate, clear and timely information which promotes best practice in democratic and authentic ways;
